After speaking to numerous “make-up” artists and going to a few make-up trials, I was so discouraged, because no one was able to give me the “look” that I was trying to achieve for my wedding day. I came across your website when I was looking for make-up artists of color, since my now husband suggested it. He thought somehow it made a difference, like the acronym FUBU (For Us, By Us). I didn’t think it made a difference because like an artist, I thought a person who knew their craft and had skills can “make-up” anyone. I guess I was wrong on that one.
When we spoke, although I was nervous, I was comfortable at the same time. I was put at ease as you listened to my concerns and resassured me that “you got me”. When I relayed my conversation to my Maid of Honor, she was confident with my decision as long as I was. When I mentioned about scheduling a make-up trial, you were confident in telling me that I didn’t need one, I was really psyched.
Everyone in my bridal party loved the way I looked. When the groomsmen saw me prior to my walk down the aisle, they were surprised and said how beautiful I looked as well. Most importantly, when I began the walk down the aisle, and my husband saw me for the first time, he got so teary eyed because he loved the way I looked. Prior to the wedding, he asked me if I found anyone for hair and make-up but I told him wasn’t worried about it since I had so many other things to worry about, although I scheduled everything, I wanted it to be a surprise to him. On our honeymoon, we were able to get a sneak peek at the wedding pictures, and he got teary eyed again, looking at my pictures.

“Preparing for your wedding day is like painting a masterpiece….every stroke must be perfect. So when I was looking for the best make-up artist for my bridal portrait, Andrea came highly recommended by one of Essence Magazine’s top executives. I was told: “She did my make-up for my wedding and she is AMAZING….a really sweet person too.” I called her immediately and from the moment we spoke, I knew that I didn’t have to look any further. I was also in need of a photographer and hairstylist. Without hesitation, Andrea pulled together her team! Within 30 minutes, I had booked a complete session with New York City’s finest “glam squad” team, “Fairweather FacesTM.”
The day of the session came and I was beyond impressed. The professionalism and care that was extended to me was priceless. Andrea and Vanessa were simultaneously doing makeup and hair and it felt like my best girlfriends getting together to “hook a sistah up” for her special day! I kept repeating, “I feel like I’m Halle Berry or Beyonce!” And when I looked in the mirror I had to gasp at myself…I looked like a princess! As a professional singer, I’ve had my makeup and hair done before, but the work of Fairweather FacesTM exceeded my expections. It was natural, flawless…..simply beautiful! (I literally DID NOT wash my face until about 2 am because I didn’t want mess up Andrea’s work!) And my hat goes off to photographer, Greg Alexander! The man’s eye and vision through the lense is royal and he has a heart of gold!
My wedding day was absolutely beautiful. My portrait was displayed in the grand foyer of the mansion where we were married and everyone commented on how “beautiful I looked and how classy the portrait was.” But no one was more impressed than my husband, Frank. After the honeymoon, we quickly made arrangements with Fairweather FacesTM to do another session with the both of us. Again, Andrea outdid herself! We used our photos as thank you cards for our guests and as a long-lasting momento of our wedding.
